flowerhead

Dear Brides, Prom goers, All around snazzy ladies,
I know a veil is traditional and pretty, and lovely. I also know that a birdcage veil is, trendy, retro and fun...I even know that a wrist corsage is just what you do for prom; but I have another idea...how about a flower headband? Let it be known that I worked with this thing on my head all day and never once did I want to throw it across the room like a baby does with a stupid sun hat. They're very comfy, totally adjustable for those with bowling ball sized heads like myself, but most of all they're FUN, and totally one of a kind! I mean really...isn't a wedding or a prom all about having fun anyway? I also know for a fact that you can dance with it on...because I secretly tested it out in the privacy of my office. Just throwing the idea out there for you to ponder, I apologize for the fact that the idea has my face attached to it though. Go forth and contemplate the amazingness of the flower headband!!

Oh I love a winter wedding...I really do. It's not a secret that I dislike the summer, and crave a winter hat and fuzzy sweater, so the idea of sweaters and coats, and hats all mixed with soft romantic details makes me all mushy inside; and Molly and Eric's wedding didn't let me down. Molly and her mom had been collecting elements for this wedding for well over a year. Boxes and boxes of birch bark, more feathers then even a bird would know what to do with, and the most amazing little vintage bottles and vases for me to play with. I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves (and man do I wish I could show you ALL of them, but I think you might get bored...promise)

...bring on the professional shots, I'm waiting on pins and needles!!

See all that open space in March? Not a note on the board....ok ok this doesn't mean I don't have things to keep me busy...because really thats so far from the truth. Weddings are booking quickly, and before I'm totally booked I would love to meet with you, plan something fun and totally unique for your event. Your name could be on that March calendar, complete with orange sticky note! Imagine the possibilities!? Oh wait, you're not getting married but would like to be on the calendar too? Well, are you having a party? A Bar/Bat-mitzvah? Need some stuff to stage your home? Just want to come hang out? I'm happy to meet with you too... but sad to say your sticky note would not be orange, but pink. Then once you book you would move onto the giant calendar in my office which I stare at every single day. Its a calendar extravaganza around these parts!! So give the shop a call to set something up...802.698.0358, I have my stickies ready and waiting!

She looks pretty in black and white....and by she I mean the store, not the silly creature arranging flowers.

oh, hey...

Ladies, Gentlemen...its that time of year again...don't let your loved one forget to send you something pretty. I mean come on, print this out leave it on their pillow with a list of all the flowers and colors you like. What could be more subtle then that?

SUCKER.

What seems like forever ago (2007...OK, not THAT long ago..) to be exact Amber and Brian came in to the shop inquiring about having me do their wedding flowers. I fell in love with their ideas automatically, as well as how much fun they seemed to be having with the whole wedding process. To date their wedding is one I'm most proud of...because well...we managed to cantilever cymbidium orchids (notoriously REALLY top heavy...and a bit tricky when it comes to making them stand exactly where you want them to) in very light metal bowls. Not to mention I still have a picture of the bouquets in my office...all in all it was just a really fun wedding to do. So, you may be asking where I'm going with this...well last week I had the pleasure of making an arrangement for them, like I've done many times in the past couple years, but this was for the birth of their very new, and I'm sure very cute little baby. I love when a plan all comes together, what can I say...I'm a sucker.

The Wedding...

...and one happy baby arrangement, complete with blue shoes.
