barbara & peter 8.30.08

good morning, i couldnt pull it together last night to write and post about the other wedding from last weekend, it was getting close to the end of my work day and spent most of the last half hour drooling at the front counter. ok, ok...maybe not drooling but close to it! so here we go...barbara and peter, there was a love for blue. obviously. the colors seemed much more rich in person and i feel as if these pictures dont really do justice to how deep and gorgeous the dutch hydrangea was in color. bummer. oh well, enjoy...i'm off to sew a piece of silk to wrap a bouquet in. enjoy your day!

courtney & ryan 8.30.08

ok, i haven't thought of anything to say...although miss courtney was VERY into anything star shaped, so if you look closely you'll notice everything i used had 5 very distinct points. we're calling this one "supertropicalicious!" as i have a slight obsession with putting "-ous" on the end of most adjectives. i'm odd...dont ask.

ok, one more to go...and its all blueeeeeeeeee

Terra & Greg 8.30.08

oh this past weekend was a busy one, and we're gearing up for a CRAZY one this week. six, yes you read that correctly, six weddings this saturday. it is at this point when you start to think that maybe another employee would be a lovely idea...but mitchel and i are going to give it a whirl! anyway, terra and greg...they were fun! terra brought in this picture of a lovely reed covered vase she has found, it just so happened that she had the same number of bridesmaids as she did guest tables. so, we ended up making her bridesmaids bouquets into the centerpieces just by popping them into the vases. clever? yes, i thought so! way to go me! well...anyway, enjoy the pictures, i'm off to think of what to write for the next post.

seneca & chris 8.23.08

oh this one was fun...but a HUGE amount of work. i'm still sleepy from the long weekend. i'm not to talkative at the moment, so instead i'll just let the flowers speak for themselves...keep in mind everything smelled like mixed herbs, mint, sage, corriander...yummmmm!

mary & ross 8.16.08

so this past weekend i had the pleasure of attending a wedding! imagine that!? its not so often that i get to do the flowers and am allowed to enjoy their end result. mary and ross are folks i've known since high school...ross since middle school. i was so excited to be able to take tons of pictures of all the little details i always miss, and i did. then my camera went missing...needless to say i wasnt a happy camper. did anybody find it? no? didnt think so...

well anyway, i did manage to take some bouquet shots before the wedding and happily stole this image of mary cracking up (something i love about her...she's got a great laugh) off of a facebook album. so...well enjoy. this upcoming weekend is FULL of stuff to do, our largest wedding of the summer and another one involving MANY jellybeans...stay tuned folks.

lisa & tuli 8.9.08

sorry we've been off the map for a little bit. its been quiet and raining, oh the rain...i feel as if we all might float away. i keep thinking to myself that maybe autumn will be perfect...sunny, warm and perfect. at this point i highly doubt it though...i'm sure we're in for snow in september or something off the wall like that. maybe a tsunami? oh wait...we're not close to the ocean, but stranger things have happened.

as for store going-ons we are now into our first weekend of wedding CRAZINESS. 2, 3, 6 weddings on one day...yes you read that correctly. 6 in one day...ugh....wait for it.

so this past weekend i enjoyed that fact that we only had one...a nice simple classic red rose wedding. havent done one of these in a very long time...but it was a nice break from the usual (or the not so usual like we tend to lean towards) so with that said i'll leave you with this simple shot of the brides bouquet and tell you that next weekends wedding will be a good one, i even got invited (thanks mary!) so i'll have lots of fantastic shots to share...off to stare at the rain, once again...

lisa & art 7.26.2008

i love these little woodsy numbers...perfect for lisa and art's outdoor pigroast. relaxed, and fun and loaded with texture. i'm actually pretty fond of these, if i do say so myself...

oh summer.

oh summer, your colors are just to much fun. thats all for now....

eamon and abby 7.12.2008

this weekend miss abby and her sweet hubby eamon tied the knot. i haven't made a traditional all white bridal bouquet in a long white but i have to say...i liked this one very much. it looked so fresh, almost like sugar flowers...i had a moment saturday afternoon thinking that things were going to brown and not look so happy for the wedding (stephanotis...the little star shaped ones with the pearl tend to slowly turn brown in the correct humidity...they're so pretty and smell so nice, but really give florist the willies for this very reason)

well, seeing abby and eamon this morning, complete with big hugs and smiles made everything better. i love a big hug early on a monday morning.

sorry, yes we have been missing in action around these parts. things are quiet, summer is beautiful, the 4th of july was a well deserved long weekend...and now things are getting back to normal. very cute wedding this weekend (yes...pictures will be on the way, promise!)

just wanted to say we hadnt forgotten you lovely people and we promise we'll be back in the swing of things asap. but now we'll leave you with this picture of the most beautiful poppy ever. she's on her way to the big trash can in the sky, but sometimes things are ever more beautiful towards the end.
